Dominos Pizza

What can I say about Domino’s? I don’t really eat pizza as much as I did in college, but Domino’s deserves a mention on my site as it was THE fast food solution we had after a night of partying in college. We were all about the 5-5-5 deal, which reminds me of former presidential candidate Herman Cain’s 9-9-9 plan.

Herman Cain 9-9-9 Plan

The reason why we loved Domino’s wasn’t necessarily for the taste. This pizza is nothing like New York pizza. It’s far from it. It’s just that they were the only place open late and actually delivered on campus. You can call in an order until 3am on a weekend night if you wanted to and get your order within 45 minutes or so. I’m not gonna lie. I always felt bad for the delivery guys as it was sad to see kids in school rip these people off and not give enough cash or just leave terrible tips. You can say it’s karma though. Those are the scummy people I don’t want to associate myself with.

So what is this 5-5-5 deal? If you order three medium pizzas of any topping (I believe that’s right), you can get them for $5 each! Awesome, right? And if you split this amongst a few of your friends, it basically comes out to nothing. However, being a former fat kid, I pretty much ate an entire pie myself. Sometimes the people working knew we were partying all night so the person on the phone would try to mess with us. We’d order and they’d say something like “Why are you calling us at this hour? Don’t you have anything else to do?”

Good times.

Aside from pizzas there, we’d indulge in cheesy bread and wings. Their wings were pretty solid, so if you want to go low carb, that was a good solution to go with. Just lay off the blue cheese if you plan on staying lean while eating some Domino’s.

There were so many good stories with Domino’s in college. I’ll have to write about some of them on the blog.
